Romans 6:1-7:6

To declare or set apart as sacred

To dedicate solemnly to a service or goal

Dedicated to a sacred purpose; sanctified.

People are often consecrated to material things

A dog is consecrated to his master

We are consecrated to God or to the Devil

We should be consecrated to God

By Death

Romans 6:1-14

How are we dead yet living?

Why should we be consecrated by death?

So that we might be in the likeness of his resurrection Romans 6:5

Our body of sin is done away Romans 6:6

He is justified from sin Romans 6:7

We believe that we shall live with him Romans 6:8

Christ died once for sin, death has no more dominion over him Rom 6:9-11

Since we are consecrated by death sin is not to reign in our mortal bodies

Colossians 3:5-6 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

By Slavery

Romans 6:15-23

We can be consecrated to whomever we want to Romans 6:16

Contradicts the idea that we cannot fall from grace or that we cannot sin

Why by slavery?

We are bond servants of righteousness Romans 6:18

Our fruit is unto sanctification Romans 6:22

The end eternal live Romans 6:22

By Marriage

Romans 7:1-6

Uses well known law regarding marriage to teach our bond to God

Why be consecrated by marriage?

That we might bring forth fruits unto God. Romans 7:4

Physical marriage is to produce fruit

We serve in the newness of the spirit Romans 7:6

Are you consecrated to Christ or Satan?

Won't you be consecrated to Christ by death, slavery and marriage?
