The Body of Christ - The Universal Church

E-mail Print PDF

"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:15-19

Does Grace Alone Save?

E-mail Print PDF

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord." Genesis 6:8

What is grace? American Heritage Dictionary defines grace as "a favor rendered by one who need not do so". Merriam-Webster defines it as "unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification". How did Noah find grace in God's sight?

"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them." Genesis 6:5-7

Do You Believe?

E-mail Print PDF

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Thus begins God's history of mankind. This simple sentence teaches us how life came into existence. Do you believe it?

This statement is one of, if not, the most disputed in the Scriptures. Yet in it is found the very basis of our salvation. Atheists would have us believe there is no God; evolutionist, humanist, and the popular media would have us believe there may be a God but He didn't create us, we created Him. Theistic evolutionist would have us believe there is a God and He created all we know but, He lied about how He did it.

Right Decisions

E-mail Print PDF

Every day individuals make many decisions about various aspects of their life. Some decisions that are made are critical to our very existence. Just think of all the decisions that an individual makes every time the drive an automobile on our streets and highways. Then there are decisions that must be made regarding medical care: which doctor will we use; should we take the medicine the doctor prescribes and the list goes on involving decisions that could very well determine whether we live or die. Of course, there are decisions that are made that are not of a critical nature and many of these are made with very little or no thought about the outcome; such as: what time shall I get up; what shall I wear; what shall I have for breakfast, lunch or dinner; what TV program shall I watch, etc., etc., and the list goes on. So it is obvious that each individual makes many, many decisions each day, some conscious, deliberate decisions and some without any conscious deliberation.

In 1 Kings 18:21 Elijah called upon the people to make a decision that was critical to their spiritual well-being. He said: "How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God follow him: but if Baal, then follow him." Elijah called upon Israel to make the "RIGHT DECISION." Of all the decisions we will make and must make, the most important decision of all (THE "RIGHT DECISION") is the decision to follow the Lord, to be just a Christian. Jesus said "No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew 6:24. So, the "RIGHT" decision, that is, deciding to have Jesus Christ as our master and serve Him is a conscious, deliberate decision which has eternal consequences. However, in making this "RIGHT" decision we need to understand several things that are involved in making "RIGHT" decisions.
